Calling all science-lovers! It’s time to pick up your pens! Our modern era is rife with misinformation and fake news; by weaving scientists and scientific ideas into our stories—fiction, nonfiction, and poem—we may be able to speak to the complex truths of science better than any journalist can. But how?

In this half-day workshop, award-winning writer Dr Amanda Niehaus will share her journey from scientist to novelist and reveal writing methods and techniques that have helped her translate science into her stories, essays, and a novel. Amanda and her husband, Professor of Biology Robbie Wilson, will discuss the evolutionary and literary links between sex and death and get participants writing new material with science-based prompts. Writers of all writing and scientific backgrounds are welcome!
